Rongoa
Rongoa is one of Tane’s treasures. Tane is the god of the forest. Did you know that Rongoa can cure many injuries? Many native plants such as Harakeke, Rongoa and Kanuka have types of things they can heal.
Rongoa is a Maori medicine used from native plants in NZ.
The use of these medicines stop many sicknesses, and gives medications for the sick. Rongoa is important in the Maori culture because the Maori people used plants and trees to cure people.
Rongoa is a Maori tradition because the use of curing injuries
with native plants have been past down for many centuries.
In the past it was the only way of making the sick feel better.
I have learnt about the plant Harakeke. Before you use this you have to say a Karakia. This is not only a medicine it can be used for making clothes, hats and mats.
It is important that Rongoa is known how to be used properly because it is poisonous.

Why is Facebook a problem?
Why is Facebook a problem?
First of all what is Facebook?
Facebook is a social media website where you can talk to many friends and family around the world. You could play games and post stuff about what you’re doing to the world.
Facebook is a problem because people can get bullied and people put false information about you. Facebook also causes you viruses because you might click on a scam and it could instantly download.
Facebook has lots of scam that people click on that can put a virus on their computer. Facebook is becoming a problem because there's a lot of under aged people.
A program that is designed to harm a computer by deleting data, ruining files, and that can be spread secretly from one computer to another
Facebook is problem because people are starting to swear a lot and people will might copy of what they say. Sometimes it distracts you by doing your chores or homework. People when you get in a fight with someone they can contact you down and they know where you live.
There are even hackers that can hack your Facebook account and write scams . Sometimes some people just bully their own cousins just to make other people laugh and add them.
People are worrying more about Facebook than the world around us.
My historical recount of the voyaging waka
Have you wondered about preparing the boat and getting it ready for the big journey. Hawaiki was a big decision, but I decided my family would be better off in the new land. I would miss my friends because I wouldn't see them again. I Also would be scared to go on the trip because it was really dangerous.
As we floated across the ocean all you could hear was the water splashing back and forth. The passengers on the boat were very nervous. Soon many dolphins passed by and made the passengers feel like the new land was close.
It was a few days at sea and the passengers were starting to feel scared after the waves hit. The passengers would catch fish and would keep it fresh by putting it in water. They used coconuts to drink on the way.
After a few days at sea, I began to ask myself if I should find a new land was possible. It was hard being a navigator because people were relying on me to guide our way. There was nothing to do and it was cold and raining.
The navigators knew land was near by the bird, sticks in the water, trees. By the time they were at the new land people got off and ran to see the new land.
When people saw the new land it made everyone happy because the trip was a really dangerous and cold.
When we got off the voyage I felt happy and learnt how to know if you’re near land by the birds and the sticks. Next time I will be more careful of my safety.

Storyline Paragraph
Storyline Show
At Panmure Bridge school two actors named Tye and Naomi performed an act. It was called Space Jump and it was about an alien coming to earth to collect fiction books. The main message of the show was that aliens are not trying to take over the world. In the story they also taught the alien how to use their imagination.

Migration Paragraph
In New Zealand we respect everyone. We are tolerant of all cultures.
We accept people that migrate. New Zealand is a multicultural society. New Zealand has a diverse population filled with different cultures. Change is okay as we have learnt to adapt to it. We respect everyone's beliefs and we don't mock each other. We are a growing population in this country and we are teaching others how we live here. People from different cultures come and bring their ideas. In New Zealand we live in harmony.

Bias Paragraph
Bias can change the way we look at things.
There are two types of bias and they are subjective and objective.
Subjective means you opinion is influenced by the past.
Objective means you don’t allow bias to affect your judgement
In the story the three little pigs, the wolf tries to break and
kill the pigs. This shows that my opinion was subjective as I think killing is wrong. If I didn't use what I already know I think I would feel sorry for the wolf and how he got burned from the boiling pot of water. I am not letting the difference between right and wrong affect my decision.
In my bias paragraph I have used the p.e.e chain to help me.

Holiday Reading - Favourite Page
The activity I have chosen to do is take my least favourite page in the book and replace it with something I would like better.
Page: There was no time to wonder what kind of dinosaur had made this hole. He quickly dumped everything on the ground and started shoving his stuff inside.
My Version: In the rush I was in I didn’t have time to inspect this hole. I quickly shoved small loads of stuff inside the hole. I knew if I tried to stuff everything at once it would all fall out again.
The book I read was Dinosaur Rescue. The authors were Kyle Mewburn and Donovan Bixley. This is an adventure book. The page that was my least favourite was 20 - 21.

Holiday Reading - Rewrite the ending
The title of the book I read was Conspiracy 365. The author of this book is Gabrielle Lord. This book is an action book.
The book originally ended with Cal’s little sister getting kidnapped. Soon Cal found out that he was the nephew of one of the kidnappers. Through his uncle they were sending messages to each other. They said that they will give him back his sister if he could answer a riddle. Once he lost the riddle he lost his sister’s life along with it.
I would of changed the ending with Cal giving something to the kidnappers for his sister instead of answering a riddle.
My writing is better than the original because it doesn’t take too much time.
